Dear Hermon Ould,
I don’t understand your question about the PEN Club in Russia. Didn’t you get my letter with the translation of Lunatscharskis letter, in which I ask you to write to Lunatscharski yourself and to give him the information about spirit and organisation of the Pen Club he wanted to have. As far as I am informed they make difficulties in Russia, they don’t believe in the Pen Club. Perhaps one of the reasons is, that a man like Mereschkowski, in Russia hated as antibolschewik, whose writings against the revolution don’t only fight the communists, is a member of honor of the Pen Club.
I think it best for you to write Lunatscharski a particular letter and appeal to me.
