Dear Barrett,
Thank you so much for the cheque in the amount of 89,00 dollars. Concerning the MACHINE WRECKERS I shall write to Ashley Dukes. When he asked for five dollars a performance he did not consider the small amount which an American amateur theatre generally pays. It would be ridiculous if the translator is getting the whole fee and the author would not only get nothing but would have to pay in addition the agency fee of the Dramatists Play Service.
Yours sincerely,
Ernst Toller.
